Engine Dynamometers
We offer a comprehensive line of engine dynamometers, including AC dynamometers, eddy current dynos, hysteresis dynos, and water brake dynos. Capacities range from fractional power to 10,000Kw (13000 HP) and speeds up to 50,000 rpm. In addition, we offer a complete line of test cell accessories and support services, so you can have a clear understanding of everything involved in setting up an engine dynamometer testing station.
AC Engine Dynamometers
Our PDAC Series AC engine dynamometers offer an excellent dynamic response, high overload capacity and high pulse torque. All models are available with a regenerative module option and offer bi-directional operation, with speed limits reaching 10,000 RPM.

Eddy Current Engine Dynamometers (Air Cooled)
We offer air-cooled eddy current engine dynamometers for testing engines from 10 - 1680 kW (14 - 2250 HP) capacity. The PDEC series is ideal for short duration production and verification tests that require accuracy and repeatability. The system does not require extensive infrastructure and is very attractively priced. It is the only "plug and play" dynamometer in the industry. Due to its air-cooled nature, this series is not suited for duration tests unless external cooling fans are added to the system. These external cooling fan modules are available from Phoenix Dynamometer, so please inquire to determine if your application will require them.

Our eddy current water-cooled dynamometers test engines ranging from 10 - 720 kW (14 - 965 HP). The rugged design of the power absorbing system ensures a long operating life, even in the most demanding production and endurance testing environments.

Water Brake Engine Dynamometers
Our water brake style engine dynamometers are designed with a single rotor. They have very low inertia, high capacities (75kW -10,000kW), and bi-directional operation. Each unit is made with corrosion resistant and heavy-duty materials and components for longevity. All backed by our industry-leading two-year warranty.
